Naturist Walk & Swim - Djerriwarrh Reservoir, Toolern Vale
1486 Diggers Rest-Coimadai Rd
10:15 – 16:00
(There have been two cancellations so there are still two tickets available - 3.30pm on 15/1/21.) A naturist walk in a scenic, remote location not too far from Melbourne. GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Medium, approximately 9 km circuit walk. About 3 hours walking time plus 1 hour lunch and swim stop. We walk on 4WD tracks, single lane walking trails and kangaroo pads. About 3 km is on kangaroo pads and the walking speed is quite slow. There are some moderate hills but they are not that long.  ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: This event is for Naturists. A lovely remote spot, not far from Melbourne where we can shed our clothes and enjoy naturist walking and swimming. The reservoir is quite a large body of water and there is plenty of water there all year round. The reservoir is hidden in the Pyrete Forest and is most picturesque. We have visited this reservoir two or three times before and are hoping to find a different way in to it this time. Afternoon Snacks and Drinks: After the walk we will return to the Toolern Vale General Store to collect the cars that we didn't take to the start of the walk. If desired, we can have a cool off drink or coffee there, or if some would prefer we could drive to Melton for a beer or coffee at Mac's Hotel, 322 to 332 High St, Melton (11 km and 10 minutes drive from Toolern Vale). COVIDSafe Checklist: Checklist 210116 Djerriwarrh Walk & Swim BOOKING: By Wednesday 13th January. To register, click on Get Tickets. MEETING TIME | LOCATION: Meet at 10:15am at the Toolern Vale General Store for coffee and registration. The exact address is 1486 Diggers Rest-Coimadai Rd. There is a good car park opposite the General Store.  MAP REFERENCE: Melway map 331 grid G5 | Melway Key Map 7 grid E3 | VicRoads Map 78 grid B3. | Google map goo.gl/maps/nZfzrbFUSJr. WALK LOCATION: Entry is via a private farm property north west of Toolern Vale. DISTANCE | TIME FROM GPO: 50 km, 45 minutes. Travel via the Calder or Western Highways. FOOD and BEVERAGES: Lunch, snacks, water/drink to take on the walk. APPAREL: Comfortable shoes/boots. New Years Day Picnic - Maranoa Gardens, Balwyn
Maranoa Botanic Gardens
12:00 – 17:00
Raise a beverage to farewell the "Annus Horribilis" that was 2020 and celebrate the start of a, hopefully, fantastic 2021 with your Nomads friends. Travel via public transport is possible. GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Easy, social event with self guided walks around the gardens and associated Beckett Park.  ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: Maranoa Gardens is considered to be one of the most thoroughly curated public dedications to Australian native flora in Victoria. In 1922 the gardens were obtained by the former City of Camberwell and by 1926, Maranoa Gardens opened to the public. By 1962, Maranoa Gardens had doubled in size when it was twinned with the adjacent Beckett Park; the latter being an important revegetation site for indigenous species where visitors can walk through patches of grassy woodlands similar to those that existed more than 100 years ago. Mixed Naturist Bushwalk, Bamganie State Forest (near Meredith)
Meredith Cafe and Corner Store
10:30 – 16:00
Please Note: We are very pleased that from 23 Nov the Covid restrictions have been eased so that we now take up to a limit of 50 walkers on our Bamganie hike. However walking in a very large group can be difficult, so at this stage we are planning to walk in two goups of up to 25 each and each with a different leader. (As of Sun 22 Nov there are 20 spots left.) Looking forward to seeing you all on Sun 29th. Enjoy a day out in the buff in a small out-of-the-way state forest not too far from Melbourne. GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Moderate, approximately 7 to 8 km circuit walk.  ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: This walk is for naturists. Enjoy a nude day out in a small and remote state forest. There are pleasant tracks through the open forest, some 4WD tracks and some animal pads to follow, with the occasional challenge of having to cross a small creek or two. This forest is a favourite habitat of the echidna and it's quite usual to see them fossicking around for a tasty ant lunch. After the Walk: If you feel like a cool drink or a coffee after the walk we could go to The Royal Hotel, 16 Wallace St, Meredith (COVID-19 restrictions permitting). BOOKING: By Thursday 26th November. To register, click on Get Tickets. MEETING TIME | LOCATION: 10:30am at the Meredith Corner Store and Cafe, 17 Wallace St, Meredith. This is on the corner of the A300 Midland Hwy.  MAP REFERENCE: Melway map X911 grid C4 | VicRoads Map 522 grid H9 | Google map goo.gl/maps/NK7PsTMqbbqk1nsX6.  DISTANCE | TIME FROM GPO: 105 km, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes depending on the route taken. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is no public transport arriving in Meredith in time on Sundays. Please email the leader who should be able to arrange a lift for you. In your email please state 1) your suburb of residence and 2) a contact phone number. FOOD: Carry lunch, snacks and approximately 1.5 litres water. APPAREL | FOOTWEAR: Comfortable walking boots/shoes, hat, dark glasses, sunscreen, repellent, a small towel in case there is water in the creek.
