A naturist walk in a scenic, remote location not too far from Melbourne. ** Unfortunately, this event has had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 lockdown. The walk will be run in a future program ** GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Medium, approximately 9 km circuit walk. About 3.5 hours walking time plus 1 hour lunch and other stops. We walk on 4WD tracks, single lane walking trails and kangaroo pads. About 3 km is on kangaroo pads and the walking speed is quite slow. There are some moderate hills but they are not that long.  ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: This event is for Naturists. A lovely remote spot, not far from Melbourne where we can shed our clothes and enjoy naturist walking to the old abandoned Antimony Mine and then on to Mt Sugarloaf, which is in the Pyrete Forest not far from Lerderderg Gorge. Afternoon Snacks and Drinks: After the walk we will return to the Toolern Vale General Store to collect the cars that we didn't take to the start of the walk. If desired, we can have a cool off drink or coffee there, or if some would prefer we could drive to Melton for a beer or coffee at Mac's Hotel, 322 to 332 High St, Melton (11 km and 10 minutes drive from Toolern Vale). Join fellow Nomads and friends for an online quiz night this Friday 17th September - an evening of fun and socialising from the safety, warmth and comfort of your own home! Bring your food and drinks and get ready for two hours of socialising online. Play in teams as you try and outsmart your opponents in a Trivia Game with questions from David L. Afterwards, participate in games of Tic Tac Toe - if your team answers a question correctly you can strategically add a marker (a nought or a cross). Finally, we'll have a game of Wheel of Fortune, where you choose letters to try and solve a word puzzle.   Play starts at 7pm when everyone will be placed into teams. Are you thinking about hitting the road once the lockdowns are behind us - for a few days or a few months, to explore more of our vast, beautiful countryside? Hear from some Nomads who have already done that. What worked for them? What didn't? What traps should you avoid? GRADE: Social - online presentation via Zoom.  ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: Nomads members David R (who has owned a number of Campervans), Ian and Graeme (fathers of Larry, the Tray Top Camper), Stephan C (who has recently purchased a secondhand ambulance) and Ross & Graham (proud owners of a Tvan Camper Trailer) have invested in different types of mobile accommodation. The night will take the form of an interactive discussion panel. The panelists will respond to a series of questions from MC Garry, and members will be invited to ask the panelists additional questions about each topic. After outlining the options used by the panelists, they'll be asked how they went about selecting their vehicle, and how lifestyle choices impacted their decisions. They'll also be asked what to consider regarding the vehicle fitout, and any surprises they encountered along the way. Finally, they'll give us some inside information on what they really like about their solutions, and what they would do differently next time. Bring your food and drinks and get ready for two hours of socialising online. We're trying something different for the Trivia segment - Richard H. will be your gamemaster using the Kahoot software. It will be easiest to use two devices to play this - one running Zoom (on which the questions will be displayed), and one that you'll use to enter your answers into Kahoot. (See How to play Kahoot - using One or Two devices if you can only use a single device). Next, Jason will take over as gamemaster to run a game of Jeopardy ("Pick a Box"), where you select a box in one of 6 categories. If you can answer the question behind the box correctly, your team scores the associated points. (You can consult with your teammates prior to answering). If the night is still young, we'll play another game - it could be Tic Tac Toe ("noughts and crosses"), where you strategically add a nought or a cross if your team answers the question behind the selected slot correctly, or we could perhaps play the quizmaster's favourite game: Wheel of Fortune.   Play starts at 7pm (but if you feel you'll struggle to manage the Kahoot game, you can join in at 7:30pm). Ensure you register for this event in order to receive an email with your link to join on the night!
